Find Your Dancing Partner
No Guest Arrives Alone to the Waltz
At the heart of a Viennese Ball is the shared joy of movement and connection. We believe every guest should have the opportunity to experience the magic of the dance floor with confidence and grace. Whether you are an experienced dancer or taking your first steps, finding the right partner is part of the adventure.
To foster this essential element of the evening, we offer two elegant solutions to help you secure your partner for the waltz.
Option 1: The Dance Partner Registry
For those seeking a dedicated partner for the evening, we facilitate a curated, confidential matching service.
-
How It Works: After purchasing a ticket, you may opt into our registry. Provide basic information about your dance experience (e.g., "Beginner," "Comfortable with waltz," "Advanced") and your preferences. We will confidentially connect registered individuals prior to the event, allowing you to coordinate and perhaps even practice.
-
The Spirit: This is a formal courtesy for guests who wish to plan their evening. All interactions are conducted with discretion and respect.
Option 2: The Opening Committee & "Dance Hosts"
A tradition borrowed from the grandest balls in Vienna, our event will feature a select group of accomplished dancers serving as part of the Opening Committee and as dedicated Dance Hosts.
-
Their Role: These gentlemen and ladies will be present to ensure no one sits out a dance. They are skilled partners, versed in ballroom etiquette, and committed to making every guest feel included on the floor.
-
How to Engage: Simply catch the eye of a Committee member (identified by a special ribbon or badge) and ask for the next dance. It is the height of ballroom courtesy.
Preparing for the Dance
We encourage all guests, whether arriving with a partner or not, to embrace the dance.
-
Refresher Lessons: In the months leading to the Ball, we will share information on recommended local dance studios offering Viennese waltz workshops.
-
On-Site Confidence: A brief, optional group lesson will be offered during the early reception hour to review the basic box step and turn of the Viennese Waltz.
Remember: The spirit of a ball is one of generosity and participation. Do not hesitate to ask someone for a dance—it is the highest compliment. A polite "May I have this waltz?" is all that is required.
